Delete Account

Learn how to request deletion of your Better account and what happens to your data.

How to Request Deletion

You can request account deletion through any of the following methods:

  • In-app: Open Profile → Settings → Legal → Account deletion in the Better mobile app and submit the request. Your login is deactivated after the request is submitted successfully in the app, and profile photo cleanup begins immediately.
  • Email: Send a deletion request to support@bettersportsanalytics.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include your registered phone number, academy name, and player or staff name.
  • Contact form: Submit a request through our Support page with the subject "Account Deletion" and include the account details needed to verify your identity.

We verify your identity before processing deletion requests submitted outside the app. This may require confirming your registered phone number, academy, role, or guardian relationship. Once verified, we aim to process your request within 7 business days.

What Data Is Deleted

When your account deletion request is submitted, we deactivate your login, revoke active authentication sessions, clear device notification tokens, remove profile photo storage objects, and attempt cleanup of face recognition enrollment data used for automated attendance.

Some records may remain in active or archived systems where they are required for academy operations, safety, legal compliance, accounting, audit history, guardian obligations, or dispute resolution. Where deletion is not appropriate, access is restricted and the data is retained only for the purposes described in our retention policy.

Data that may be removed, anonymized, or restricted where no longer required includes:

  • Profile photo and related display image files
  • Face recognition enrollment data, subject to technical availability and retention requirements
  • Login access, authentication sessions, refresh tokens, and device notification tokens
  • Editable account and display details where they are not required for academy records
  • Notification preferences and non-essential app settings
  • Platform communication and notification history where retention is not required
  • Player progress, feedback, assessment, and attendance-related records where deletion does not affect required academy records

Retention Period

Certain data may be retained for legitimate business or legal reasons after account deletion:

  • Financial records: Transaction records and invoices are retained for 7 years as required by tax and accounting regulations.
  • Academy operational records: Attendance, batch assignment, assessment, and safety records may be retained when required by the academy, guardian obligations, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.
  • Anonymized analytics: Aggregated and anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement and reporting purposes. This data cannot be linked back to you.
  • Legal compliance: Data required for ongoing legal obligations, regulatory compliance, or dispute resolution may be retained until the relevant period expires.
  • Backup archives: Deleted data may persist in encrypted backup systems for up to 90 days after deletion before being fully overwritten.

All retained data is securely stored, access-restricted, and used only for the purposes stated above.

For security reasons, we process deletion requests only through the app, email, or the support form after identity verification. We cannot process requests made through social media or third-party channels.
